Ryanair's Future in Croatia: A Press Conference Unveils Plans
Ryanair's Chief Commercial Officer, Jason McGuinness, is set to address a press conference in Zagreb today, revealing the low-cost carrier's strategy for the upcoming summer season in Croatia. The event comes as the Croatian National Tourist Board allocates a substantial €3.3 million for marketing cooperation with strategic partners, including airlines, tour operators, and transport providers. This funding boost, a 30% increase over the previous year, has led to the addition of five new airlines and the expansion of route networks, aiming to strengthen year-round connectivity.
The conference is particularly significant as it marks the conclusion of the fifth and final year of Zagreb Airport's Growth Incentive Model, which facilitated Ryanair's base establishment in the Croatian capital in 2021. During the 2026 summer season, Ryanair aims to offer a substantial 4.231.554 seats in the Croatian market, a 3.8% increase from the previous year, with an additional 155.146 seats.
The airline has already announced two new routes from Croatia for the summer, connecting Dubrovnik with Budapest and Katowice. Additionally, Ryanair plans to increase the frequency of several existing services, primarily from its Zagreb base. This expansion follows a similar press conference held in Budapest yesterday, where Ryanair confirmed the stationing of an eleventh aircraft in the Hungarian capital and the launch of five new routes.
