Non-Stop Flights from Maine to California! ✈️ Portland Airport News (2026)

Soar to the Golden State: United Airlines' New Non-Stop Service to California

Get ready for a sunny getaway! United Airlines is bringing the California dream to Maine with its new non-stop service to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Starting June 27, 2026, you can fly directly from Portland International Jetport to these iconic cities on Saturdays, thanks to a Boeing 737 aircraft.

This exciting development marks a significant milestone for the Portland Jetport. As Paul Bradbury, Airport Director, states, "Today’s announcement from United is a first for the Portland Jetport. This summer United Airlines will connect the State of Maine to the State of California with nonstop trans-continental air service!"

The route expansion connects Maine to two of United's top unserved markets, providing easy access to the West Coast during peak tourism season. It also means you can now fly non-stop from Portland to all seven of United's domestic hubs, including Chicago O'Hare, Denver, New York City/Newark, and Washington DC Dulles, with additional Saturday service to Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Tickets for these exciting journeys will be available for purchase starting Friday, January 16, 2026. So mark your calendars and get ready to explore the vibrant cities of California!
