Austrian Airlines Expands to Ohrid: New Seasonal Service Announced (2026)

Big news for travelers! Austrian Airlines is set to connect Vienna and Ohrid with a brand-new seasonal flight service in 2026. Get ready to explore the stunning beauty of Ohrid!

Mark your calendars: flights will kick off on Sunday, May 17th. Initially, there will be one flight per week, but the frequency doubles to two weekly flights starting July 9th. The service will wrap up on September 27th. Austrian Airlines will be using its Airbus A320 aircraft for this route.

This move comes as Wizz Air is discontinuing its Vienna-Ohrid flights, due to the closure of its Vienna base. Instead, Wizz Air will launch flights from Bratislava to Ohrid in 2026.

Austrian Airlines is joining the ranks of flag carriers serving Ohrid, following Turkish Airlines' seasonal launch this year.

But here's where it gets interesting... This shift highlights the dynamic nature of the airline industry.
